The castle dates back to the 1300s and is located near Impruneta, not far from the town yet secluded, and on top of a hill with splendid 360° views of the Chianti landscape. It has been owned by the same family since 1700. The property measures approximately 3300 sq m, consisting of the residential villa/castle with frescoed rooms (approximately 1000 sq m), and with a small consecrated and richly decorated private chapel. The main buildings are in need of significant modernisation. Charming stone buildings house the "agriturismo" apartments and all other agricultural spaces, including a romantic "belvedere" loggia, from which gorgeous sunsets can be enjoyed in summer. The gardens of about 1850 sq m surrounding the castle are home to the Italian garden with the romantic "berceau" and wisteria pergola. The walk along the walls leads to the large swimming pool with the lemon house and the old vat house. The castle is surrounded by a beautiful olive grove and vineyard, as well as a large ancient forest. The organic farm produces extra virgin olive oil, which has received an international award, and also produces an excellent IGT Toscana red wine. As far as organic production is concerned, from the two hectares of vineyard about 120-140 quintals of IGT Toscana wine can be achieved (same blend as the most famous supertuscans, namely 70% San giovese, 20% Merlot and 10% Cabernet) and from the 11 hectares of olive groves of the frantoio, moraiolo and leccino varieties, an average of 12 quintals of oil. The castle has two beautiful historic cellars on two levels (one of which would make a perfect spa, as it has a separate entrance), and the other is currently an old oil mill, perfectly preserved. The castle is not bound by the Fine Arts regulations, and is currently being successfully rented, mostly for weddings and events, and can accommodate up to 140 people seated in the new 160 sq m event hall, and up to 20 people in the 7 apartments/rooms, including two suites in the main body of the castle. In the blue hall of the castle it is possible to celebrate legally valid civil unions.
